Mission Statement
Junior Achievement empowers young people to own their economic success. Our volunteer-based K-12 programs foster work-readiness, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy skills, and use experiential learning to inspire kids to dream big and reach their potential. Junior Achievement works with local businesses and organizations to recruit community volunteers who have 30-45 minutes per week to share their work experiences with local students in kindergarten through high school.
Description
Junior Achievement of the Roaring Fork Valley is a local education non-profit that provides K-12 lessons that support the Colorado State Standards. Community volunteers spend 30-40 minutes per week in the classroom, 5-6 times to present the program. All materials are provided by JA and teachers request the classes before the volunteer is assigned to the class. No prior teaching experience required! The lessons include hands-on activities and games to keep the students engaged.
Everyone who volunteers with JA says they LOVED their time in the classroom!
