The Women's Center (ASG)

I have volunteered 3 days per month for the past 11 months and I have learned so much about the nonprofit world as well as developed a new respect for women living with HIV/AIDS. ASG's Board of Directors, Consumer/Strategic Committee and CEO are ALL volunteers and work passionately to serve low-income females/mothers living with HIV. This is a Great volunteer experience for a mature female or intern looking to learn about serving others in a business structured environment. Volunteers with no prior business or client services experience may find it challenging to fit into office structure due to the large number of crisis and client intakes and minimal time for training "newbies". I have other places I also volunteer but ASG is my favorite because ASG makes "committeed volunteers" feel part of the management team, The clients and management team remind me how much I am appreciated on a regular basis.
