I have volunteered twice with Cascade and both times found the volunteer coordinators to be very unorganized. They ended up doing most of the work, sometimes not very well, and just seemed to want to have us on-hand for whatever might come up. I think if they better communicated with volunteers beforehand about what their plans were, we could have been more effective. It would have been nice to see a detailed schedule, or to-do list, or something like that so that we could be more like collaborators rather than feeling like dumb, free labor.
