You and your pet can offer companionship and comfort to patients with terminal illness. Your visits can help our patients and family members relax, provide emotional support, and offer unconditional love. Once you and your pet are certified, we ask you to spend about an hour a week visiting patients. Dogs, cats, rabbits, and other pets welcome. Your volunteer time is flexible, based on your availability and our patients’ schedules. No experience necessary! Bilingual applicants are greatly appreciated. We provide you with all the training and support you need, including a network of other amazing hospice volunteers. Many of them say that this is the most meaningful work they’ve done. Your volunteer time is flexible, based on your availability and our patients’ schedules. Mission Hospice & Home Care provides personalized, compassionate end-of-life care for patients and families in San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties. As a direct care volunteer, you will support our hospice patients and their families with weekly visits - in their homes, in nursing homes, or wherever they live. If you are caring, flexible, and a good listener - you can provide important emotional and social support for patients who are living with terminal illness. You and your pet will make a very special difference in the lives of your patients and their families.
