Founded in 1989, Lee County Alabama Habitat for Humanity is an ecumenical housing ministry that seeks to eliminate poverty housing in Lee County, Alabama, and strives to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action. By having people from many backgrounds work together in equal partnership, Habitat builds new relationships and a sense of community, as well as new houses. Habitat Houses are sold at no profit to partner families, and funds from the no-interest mortgage payments are used to support the construction of more houses in the community.
