Gyuto Vajrayana Center

Since its founding in 2000 by Venerable Thupten Donyo, Gyuto Vajrayana Center has provided the teachings of the Buddha and practice of Tibetan Buddhism to all who visit the beautiful center/monastery located in San Jose, California.

In order to preserve the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, the Center in San Jose, California invites highly qualified teachers to the San Francsico Bay Area and provides teachings on Sutra and Tantra. In 2007 the Center had the great honor of hosting His Holiness, the 14th Dalai Lama, in the San Francisco Bay Area. Along with teachings, the Center organizes initiations, empowerments, prayer ceremonies, funeral services, house blessings and purifications to the Tibetan Buddhist community in Silicon Valley and the San Francisco Bay Area. We also reach out not only to the different schools of Tibetan Buddhism but also to Buddhist practitioners of every nationality. Nonsectarian outreach is part of the activities of the Center. The Center reaches out into the Silicon Valley and San Francisco Bay neighborhoods offering support to those in need.
