Voices for Children - St. Louis
On any given day there are nearly 1,500 St. Louis children in foster care. These children desperately need a voice in the critical decisions that affect them today and long into the future. These are children who need advocates to speak up for them - to help break the cycle of abuse and set a course for nurturing healthy families for generations. There are many ways you can help give hope and a voice to a child.
Voices pairs Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteers with our staff of child advocacy professionals to create a powerful advocacy team for each child. CASA advocates are sworn officers of the court who get to know each child as an individual and, working with a Voices child advocacy professional, advocate for the child’s best interests in court and in the community where decisions about the child’s life are made.
CASA volunteers choose to work in either the city or county court jurisdictions during the course of their volunteer training.
Voices for Children is a member of the Missouri and National CASA Associations.
Voices for Children, recently merged with CASA of St. Louis County, advocates for abused and neglected children and youth in St. Louis by representing their best interests in court and in the commuity. Our vision is that every child lives in a safe, permanent home and has the opportunity to thrive.
