Mission Statement

The mission of the 11th Circuit CASA Program is to attain a safe, secure and permanent home for every child served. CASA volunteers facilitate this mission by speaking up for children and advocating for their best interest.

Description

CASA Volunteers are trained volunteers who are sworn officers of the court and appointed to advocate for the best interests of child victims of abuse and neglect. Through interviews and information gathering, the CASA Volunteer will make sure that the child is getting the services and support they need while in foster care. CASA Volunteers provide the court with a full picture of a child's life and recommend what they think is best for the child through written reports to the Court. As the eyes and ears of the judge, they help aid the judge in making more informed decisions and ensure that the child has a voice in court. The goal of the CASA Program is for children to have a safe, permanent home as quickly as possible.

If you are looking to make a difference in the life of an abused or neglected child, you can. Become his or her voice and make your recommendation to the judge. As a former CASA, I found it very rewarding as I served my local community and contributed to a better future of the children. Lastly but not the least, you get to work with a great team of dedicated professional people who really cares about the children.
