Mission Statement

The vision of Special Olympics is to help bring all persons with intellectual disabilities into the larger society under conditions whereby they are accepted, respected and given the chance to become useful and productive citizens.

Description

Special Olympics Washington provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with mental retardation or a closely related developmental disability, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community.

Such an enjoyable atmosphere. It's awesome how this organization helps individuals and families smile a little bigger, shine a little brighter, and assist with achieving so much. Truly was a great day spent making new friends. Definitely recommend any and everyone to help out!!

Over all the best place to volunteer at beccause not only do you learn that nobody is perfect but everybody is just as equal, you meet great people and just have a huge blast.
