Founded in 1966 by Evelyn Davis, the Tiny Tot Childcare and Family Outreach Center has grown to be a multifaceted institution that caters to the needs of both child and parent. As one of the largest non-profit childcare facilities in the state of Iowa, Tiny Tot's vision and purpose is to serve the needs and concerns of low to middle income parents who are working to make a better future for themselves and their families. With a large percentage of Tiny Tot families receiving financial assistance of one form or another, services are provided based on need. At one time Tiny Tot served over 500 families per year through its main location and surrounding affiliated day care homes. In the beginning, Tiny Tot enrolled children between the ages of 6 weeks to 12 years and prided itself in the nurturing, loving and safe environment offered by a dedicated staff. Today Tiny Tot has streamlined its focus, serving children between the ages of 6 weeks to 5 years with an emphasis in family success and early childhood education. Although the focus has changed the loving, caring and nurturing attributes of Tiny Tot are embedded in its foundation.
