Responsibilities and Duties Perform telephone triage by engaging in patient-centered communication through open-ended questions, active listening, and soliciting patients’ areas of concern and expectations. Assess the urgency and severity of patient conditions to determine the appropriate course of action. Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient interactions and triage outcomes. Accurately relay important patient information to the attending provider for timely and efficient medical decision-making. Qualifications Certified/Licensed Medical Assistant, EMT, Paramedic, LPN, or RN At least one-year experience with direct patient care. Superior verbal and listening skills Strong typing and computer ability necessary to document information gathered during a telephone conversation.
