Caring Kitchen - Delray Beach Food Prep - Volunteers are needed on Tuesdays or Fridays from 8:30 am to 10:30 am to help with chopping produce, making sandwiches, packing meals, and organizing donations and food distributions. Must be comfortable with a fast-paced environment and repetitive movements. Knife skills a plus. Homebound Meals - Volunteers are needed on Wednesdays from 8:30 am to 10:30 am to help with packaging homebound meals. Volunteer will be operating a sealing machine. Must be able to stand for an extended period. Must be comfortable in a fast-paced environment and with repetitive movements. Cook - Volunteers are needed to help cook on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays or Fridays from 8:30 am to 11:30 am. Must be confident working in a commercial kitchen environment. Must be able to stand for an extended period and lift 5+ lbs. repeatedly. Kitchen experience a plus. Driver - Volunteers are needed on Mondays or Thursdays from 8:30 am to 10:00 am to operate the Caring Kitchen van to pick up and drop off donations from local vendors, churches, etc. Must have a clean driving record. Lunch Distribution (Congregate meal) - Volunteers are needed to help distribute meals and serve beverages on Fridays from 11:45 am to 1:15 pm. Meals are served at a local Delray congregate site. Must be able to stand for an extended period of time. Must be able to assist with loading/unloading van. Help with set-up before lunch service and clean-up afterwards. Training provided. Volunteers are needed to give out bags of food on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month from 8:15 am to 10:15 am. Sorting Food and Packing Pantry Bags Volunteers are needed to help sort donated food and pack bags of food to distribute at our food pantries. Groups of 6 people maximum. This opportunity is for adults. High school freshmen through seniors may sign-up too if accompanied by a parent or guardian. Location is at our Lake Worth warehouse near I-95 and 10th Avenue North.
