Mission Statement

The mission of the Mentor Center of Palm Beach County is to provide an effective system for mentoring programs to function collaboratively, yet independently for the betterment of youth and young families in Palm Beach county, and to increase countywide, agencies capacity to develop and maintain quality mentoring programs or program mentoring components.

Description

We are an initiative of a special county taxing district called the Children's Services Council of Palm Beach County. CSC is a quasi-governmental agency that provides funding to non-profit local agencies that provide social services to children. The Mentor Center as a part of this, serves as a central 'clearinghouse' of appropriate volunteer mentors for the purposes of orientation, training, and countywide recruitment in order to connect youth and young families with appropriate mentors. We do not charge any fees to agencies or organizations in order to hold membership in the Mentor Center or to receive benefits.
