The Child Support Division establishes paternity and enforces child support and medical support orders, assists in locating absent parents, and collects and distributes child support monies.
Mission Statement
The Child Support Division assists parents in obtaining the financial support necessary for children to grow up and succeed in life., the Attorney General establishes paternity of children, establishes court orders of financial and medical support and enforces support orders. We promote the emotional involvement of both parents in the he life of the child by working with community groups, schools and hospitals. In the performance of their duties on behalf of Texas children, the Child Support staff will focus on efficiency, effectiveness and customer service.
