Description

Mind LA, Inc., is a nonprofit committed to providing assessment, assistance, and advocacy about Alzheimer’s and other dementia in the underserved elderly communities of Los Angeles, California. Mind LA is dedicated to providing a free, early cognitive assessment to anyone over the age of 50, in an attempt to bring any early indication of the disease to light. Our team hosts events at locations around Los Angeles, creating a welcoming, comfortable, non-biased environment. Our volunteers administer one-on-one cognitive screenings to participants under the supervision of Senior Social Workers, respecting the sensitivity of the results and following specific procedures to protect participants’ personal information. The goal is to empower seniors by providing them with an assessment of their mental health, and to act as a hub of information for those who are assessed to be in imminent need of medical intervention.
