The American Red Cross is a humanitarian organization that exists to help people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies and to provide relief for the victims of disasters. We are led in this effort by volunteers and guided by the principles of the International Red Cross movement: humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity and universality.
