Mission Statement
At Martha’s Table, we believe that every Washingtonian deserves the opportunity to thrive. We support strong children, strong families, and strong communities by increasing access to quality education, health and wellness, and family resources.
Description
We were born from humble beginnings on 14th Street NW as a safe space for children to access after-school meals. Today, we support strong children, strong families, and strong communities by operating nationally accredited education programs beginning at birth; fighting for food justice and increasing access to healthy meals and fresh produce for over 15,000 residents; and promoting family success through our no-cost community store and engagement programs.

My organization assisted with making 100 sandwiches for Martha's Table a few weeks ago and last year when I was able to participate. Making sandwiches to feed the community is/was the simplest, easiest thing to do in helping the community eliminate hunger. Dedicating time to help someone less fortunate can be extremely fulfilling to the human soul. Time is precious and if just a little bit of it can be dedicated in helping others, what a better world we'd live in!
