A want versus a need. How to balance a checkbook. Don't you wish that someone had taught you those things as you were growing up?
Now there is someone. YOU. All we need is your enthusiasm, life experience, and a willingness to teach children about how you took chances and shot for the stars. Junior Achievement provides the training, curriculum, and a classroom ready to meet you.
JA programs are 5-7 sessions usually taught over the course of several weeks to students in K-12th grade. Volunteers with limited availability may prefer the following formats:
JA in a Day-The JA in a Day allows you to volunteer without the long commitment. Students receive the same program, but lessons are taught in just one school day.
JA Reverse Job Shadow-Traditional job shadows bring students to the workplace. The JA Reverse Job Shadow brings the workplace to the students. Similar to a "Career Day", volunteers speak to classes during a single day event. Volunteers are able to educate students on potential careers, as well as explain how the subject matter they are studying in a particular class is used in their daily work.
