Girls on the Run Central Kentucky

We’re always looking for enthusiastic coaches to motivate, educate and inspire Girls on the Run program participants during the 10 week session. Head coaches are needed during the twice-weekly, 75 minute sessions. Head coaches prepare and lead each session. All materials are provided for you. Session days and times vary by each location.

Major responsibilities include: preparing, organizing, and supervising the weekly lessons; leading the program participants through each lesson; serving as a role model and mentor; coaching program participants on proper stretching,
running form, hydration and sports nutrition; attending a community running race with program participants and other volunteers; attending coaches meeting with
the Director during the season; and interacting with parents of program participants.

Description

Girls on the Run Central Kentucky is a life-changing, non-profit program for girls in the 3rd through 8th grade. Our mission is to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.

Girls on the Run combines training for a 5K (3.1 miles) running event with healthy living education. Our programs instill self-esteem through health education, life skills development, mentoring relationships, and physical training - all of which are accomplished through an active collaboration with girls and their parents, schools, volunteers, staff and the community.
