Snack bar volunteers needed
All proceeds from the Snack Bar benefit the Auxiliary to purchase items for the hospital.

We have many fun volunteer opportunites open now!

Rewarding opportunities are available in:

  • Gift Shop
  • Snack Bar
  • Surgery Family Waiting
  • Greeters/Information Clerk
  • Bookmobile (offering books, magazines and a friendly face to patients)

If you don't have experience, we will train you. Volunteers are placed in different areas based on skills, interests and availability. Joining our great team will give you a sense of satisfaction in helping others.

Mission Statement

The mission of this organization is to promote and advance the welfare of Kern Medical and its patients by providing services and benefits in addition to, those provided by the County of Kern. The purposes of the Auxiliary shall include but not be limited to the following: To render volunteer service to Kern Medicaland it patients, To promote public relations for Kern Medical in the community. To raise funds for the betterment of Kern Medical. To promote interest in health careers.

Description

Kern Medical Auxiliary has a rich history of over 47 years of continuous service. Volunteers of all ages donate thousands of hours each year to assist patients, visitors and staff throughout the hospital.

Many dedicated volunteers operate the Gift Shop and the Snack Bar, raising thousands of dollars annually to purchase state-of-the-art medical equipment for enhancing patient care.

We invite working adults, homemakers and retiree's to explore volunteer opportunities at Kern Medical. You'll make good friends and learn new skills while giving back to the community through your "gift of time."

Adult volunteers must pass a routine health and drug screening and a background check.
