NeighborWorks Orange County seeks Fund Development Volunteers. Since 1977, we have served thousands of low- to moderate-income families through educating, counseling, and economically assisting them to reach their dream of homeownership. Additionally, we educate and counsel families that are facing foreclosure, while we help alleviate the hardships of past foreclosures in our communities through purchasing, rehabilitating, and reselling bank repossessed properties at affordable rates. Our Community Building programs encourage the improvement and preservation of the assets and vitality of our communities.
We are seeking volunteers to help with fundrasing, event management, marketing and general administrative skills, to support various goals and initiatives. Some of these tasks involve updating mailing lists, scanning and indexing confidential documents, as well as entering data, among others. We ask that candidates possess attention to detail and good organizational skills. The position requires a minimum of 15 hrs. per week. Business casual attire is acceptable.

Description
NeighborWorks Orange County (formerly known as Neighborhood Housing Services of Orange County) is a non-profit Community Development Financial Institution based in Anaheim. NeighborWorks Orange County provides down-payment assistance, HUD-certified foreclosure prevention counseling, financial education, and affordable home loans for low and middle-income families in Orange County. In addition, NeighborWorks Orange County acquires, rehabilitates and resells abandoned and/or foreclosed single family residential properties to arrest the economic decline. NeighborWorks Orange County rehabilitates its properties and brings them to a higher energy efficient standard where applicable, and then sells them to income qualified, first time home buyers. It also acquires, rehabilitates and rents multi-family residential properties to households below 50% of median income.
