New volunteers are trained in the basics of tutoring adults, matched with an adult learner (or sometimes act as an aide to the small group instructor), then trained in the study materials the volunteer will be using with a student(s). A volunteer tutor usually meets at the Center twice a week for about 1.5 hours each study session...either Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday. There is no cost to the tutor to participate. Complimentary membership in the Grenada League for Adult Development includes a subscription to the monthly tutor newsletter, "The GLAD Tutor.
