Volunteer Installers

Seeking Experienced and Qualified Volunteers:

Rebuilding Together, a national non-profit organization dedicated to creating safe and healthy homes, is looking for volunteers who are comfortable with a drill and basic carpentry type skills. Training is available for the simple safety installations.

Jobs will include minor house hold repairs and safety modifications - repairs include but not limited to the following:

Safety device installation such as shower grab bars, toilet risers, transfer poles, steprails.

Carpentry: fence repair, hanging of doors and patching of holes.

Plumbing: dripping faucets, running toilets, garbage disposal issues, clogged pipes, various leaks, etc.

Electrical: repair or replacement of receptacles, lighting issues and installation of home safety items such as smoke detectors and "rocker" type light switches.

This rewarding experience will allow you to give back to those in need specifically those who are seniors, have a disability and families with children.

Description

Rebuilding Together is the nation's largest volunteer home repair organization in the country. Rebuilding Together has two programs that serve low income homeowners.

Rebuild Days use volunteers to rehab homes in the Sacramento area which include repairs such as painting, carpentry, fencing, plumbing, electrical and yard clean up.

Safe at Home is a fall prevention program where volunteers install safety devices such as grab bars, hand rails, night lights, smoke detectors and wheel chair ramps.

Both program are free of charge to homeowners who own their own home and meet our eligibliltiy guidelines.
