The National Organization for Renal Disease is a nonprofit health agency dedicated to preventing kidney (renal) disease, diabetes and high blood pressure through education and research.
Our mission is to change the face of kidney disease by aggressively promoting good health though education, disease prevention, and follow up.
The Event and Community Outreach Coordinator will handle the coordination of all of NORD’s health events and programs including media projects, and multicultural annual awareness events for organ and tissue donation. The coordinator will contact community healthcare leaders, activists, and stakeholders regarding partnerships with NORD’s programs. He or she will be bilingual and have some background in health care and outreach activities.
Some of the work can be done from home. However, you must live within a communtable distance to our office in Studio City, CA and be able to travel to the various programs and media events sponsored by NORD.

Mission Statement
A multicultural health agency that provides awareness, early warning health screenings, health promotion and disease prevention tools,health education and the most current research to under insured ,under served, high- risk populations who are predisposed to develeloping kidney (renal) disease and (esrd), diabetes and hypertension (high blood pressure) that leads to kidney failure.
Renal transplantation promotion and educational materials, community outreach and health screenings are an integral part of our programs. The corporation endeavors to change the face of these illnesses through better remedies and therapies in their treatment modalities to serve affected communities in a progressive and comprehensive way.
Our goal is to alleviate some of the health care disparity and provide some access to health screenings and health care information to high- risk multicultural communities.
Description
Provides access to critical and preventive, health care information education,diagnostic screeningss and; the promotion of medical and genetic research along with organ and tissue donation information to families and friends.
Provides tools or access to information. Trains-educates clients in the proper usage of self -monitoring equipment,refers to health care professional for follow up.
Some "Hands on" training to promote participation and enhance learning. Provides resosurces and referral information through our web site. www.stop-esrd.org
