ORGANIZATION: Virginia Breast Cancer Foundation

The Virginia Breast Cancer Foundation is seeking enthusiastic, outgoing and motivated individuals to help with community outreach. Volunteers are needed to help staff health fairs and literature tables in Richmond and surrounding counties. Volunteers will set up booths and distribute brochures, literature and other information on breast cancer and our organization. Our greatest need for volunteers is in September and October which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We are holding an orientation for new and returning volunteers on August 23rd at 10:30 AM. Description

The Virginia Breast Cancer Foundation (VBCF) is a grassroots organization committed to the eradication of breast cancer through education and advocacy. VBCF's goals are to establish the eradication of breast cancer as a state and national priority; to advocate for the collective needs of people affected by breast cancer; and to educate all Virginians on the truth about breast cancer. VBCF promotes research into the causes, prevention and cure of breast cancer through education and consumer advocacy activities designed to raise awareness about the disease. VBCF sponsors educational programs on various issues related to breast cancer. We also produce educational materials to help women and men make informed health care decisions.
