Park volunteers will help to provide a safe environment for park visitors, offer direction to natural resources/programs and promote a pleasant experience for all visitors to City of Largo Nature Parks (Largo Central Park Nature Preserve located at East Bay and Highland - 150 Highland Avenue; George C. McGough Nature Park located at 11901 146th St., N; John Bonner Nature Park located at 14444 143rd St., N.). Job Responsibilities include: *Meet/greet park visitors *Explain park rules/regulations *Report illegal/suspicious activity *Report safety hazards *Identify plant/animal life *Provide directions/information *Help prevent litter in the parks Volunteers May Assist With: *Special Events *Guided Walks *Securing a safety hazard *Looking for lost individuals *Assisting people who are lost *Helping injured animals *First Aid *Nature Center Operations *Conservation tasks. Looking To The Future: *Development/maintenance of interpretive signage *Development/maintenance of self-guided nature trail *Development of park brochure *Development of wildlife checklists *Photography *Wildflower plantings *Exotic maintenance *Butterfly gardening *Programming (school field trips/group tours/night walks/photo hikes/bird walks.
Volunteers under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.

Description
Small municipal town with approximately 75,000 residents. The first city in Florida to be nationally accredited by the National Recreation & Parks Association. We offer a very wide range of program opportunities, from, preschool age to seniors. We have nine facilities for our participants, including Central Park.
