Help maintain and protect Morris County Park Trails on an ongoing basis. There are four different levels of opportunity - Trail Watchers, Trail Ambassadors, Trail Keepers, and the Trail Fun Series. The Watchers, Ambassadors and Keepers work independently (with progressively more responsibility), while the Series is is a once per month project for groups of 10. Training is provided as needed. In all cases, COVID restrictions will apply. Trail Watchers report on specific trail conditions or issues. Trail Ambassadors are the frontline for information, guidance and education to trail users on peak days and hours. Trail Keepers perform general maintenance on trails such as pruning, inspect the tread and drainage, and report on assets. Trail Fun series participants perform a trail project once per month from 9 am to 1 pm on the first Saturday of the month. Participants must pre-register.

Mission Statement

The Morris County Park Commission is a conservation agency which serves as steward of thousands of acres of open space and facilities offering recreational opportunities to a diverse public, including those with special needs. An emphasis is on developing cost-effective programs which augment those offered by other agencies in the public and private sectors. Under the direction of nine non-salaried appointed commissioners, a professional staff is developing programs to meet existing needs and to accommodate future growth while preserving the unique character of each park unit.

Description

The Morris County Park Commission operates general purpose parks, historic sites, gardens and recreational facilities. Programs are offered to families, individuals, school groups, etc.
