Furkids is one of the only organizations in the Southeast that rescues and adopts FIV-positive cats. Feline Immunodeficiency Virus, a retrovirus that attacks the immune system ,is transmitted through blood and primarily bite wounds between cats. Cats infected with FIV can become susceptible to various secondary infections and cancers. What many people do not know is that this is NOT a death sentence.
