Inspired Youth works with 1st-12th graders from Uptown/Edgewater, helping them with school homework and extra reading, writing, and arithmetic, which the program provides. Volunteer tutors are needed
Mon., 6:30-7:50 pm, to work with 5th-12th graders.
Wed., 3:30-5:00 pm, to work with 1st-4th graders.
Thurs., 3:30-5:00 pm, to work with 1st-4th graders.
Tutoring is held at the Bezazian Branch of the Chicago Public Library, 1226 W. Ainslie, one block S. of the Argyle el-stop, behind the Car Wash.
Requirements: patience and a love of city children.

Mission Statement
Inspired Youth provides tutoring/mentoring to low income public school students on Chicago's North Side, serving around 100 youth ages 2-18. The program helps students with basic skills--reading, writing, and arithmetic--as well as homework.
In the sumers Inspired Youth offers free piano lessons to children of Uptown/Edgewater in Chicago.
Description
The Tutoring Program provides one-on-one or one-on-two tutoring with educated adults, giving students the academic skills and emotional foundation to graduate from high school, enter college, and become productive citizens. The Summer Piano Program gives children an introduction to piano (keyboard) skills, giving them "hands on" experience in making music.
