Help a child keep up with other students in the classroom by becoming a tutor! Volunteer tutors in our Partners and Learners (PAL) program are matched one-on-one with K-6th grade students from the Oroville/Palermo area. Pairs meet regularly in the Oroville Branch Library to work on reading, writing, homework, and other activities that encourage learning (all blended with a good deal of fun!). This is an opportunity to share your love of learning and make a big difference in the life of a student!
Qualifications:
- Desire to help someone else
- Comfortable reading, writing and speaking in English
- Flexible, friendly, patient, optimistic and dependable
- Relate well to youth

Libraries offer a variety of skilled volunteer opportunities to make a meaningful contribution to library programs, operations, fundraising events and other community engagement functions. Skilled volunteers have opportunities to lead projects, work with teams of staff and volunteers, learn new skills, and have fun.
