The Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County's ReStore is looking for a volunteer to work one day a week (Tuesday or Wednesday) to accompany our truck driver and pick up donations for the ReStore. Donations may be furniture, paint, appliances, and other home improvement items.
You must be able to lift 70lbs. or more.
A ReStore is a retail outlet that sells donated and surplus building materials, home appliances and furniture to the general public for a fraction of their value. Not only are these items saved from going into a landfill, all of the profits from the ReStore go right back into our organization to help us continue building more homes for families in need.

Habitat’s mission is to eliminate poverty housing. Partnering with caring individuals and organizations, Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County (HFHMC) constructs simple, decent, affordable homes and empowers hardworking, low-income families to become homeowners by providing no-interest mortgages with which to buy them.
History
Serving Montgomery County since 1989, Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County (HFHMC), an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, is an independent, locally run, nonprofit 501 (c)(3) organization. Habitat helps low- and moderate-income families become homeowners by building and partnering in the creation of affordable housing while also providing affordable, not-for-profit mortgages with which the homeowners purchase their homes.
Additionally HFHMC builds local and regional partnerships that promote community involvement, neighborhood revitalization and stability, and individual responsibility.
Since 1989, HFHMC has constructed 55 homes in Montgomery County. These homes are located in three communities across the county: Norristown, Pottstown and Upper Dublin, and we are currently expanding to the Hatfield/Lansdale area.
Description
HFHMC brings together individuals and groups from faith communities, corporations, educational institutions, and the community to help us eliminate substandard housing. We have opportunities in construction, office work, committees, and our ReStore.
We give volunteers an opportunity to not only make a difference with a day’s work, but also make a connection with a family moving towards stability and homeownership. Our homes are made possible through the labor of our dedicated volunteers working side by side with our homeowner families.
The ReStore accepts donations of new and used building supplies, home goods, appliances, etc., and sells them to the public at greatly reduced prices. Every penny of revenue goes towards future homebuilding projects--which means that volunteering at the Restore directly helps us raise money to build more Habitat houses! Volunteers are critical for processing, organizing and stocking donations, as well as providing customer service to visitors.
