Is your group, corporate team, or civic organization looking for a worthwhile volunteer project? How about helping the Friends of the Phoenix Public Library process book donations? (Think: food bank, only with books!)
We process hundreds to thousands of books every week. Your team of 10 can make an immediate and meaningful impact by spending a few hours scanning in and sorting through incoming donated books at our warehouse. It's easy, fun and *invaluable* to us in raising funds for essential library programs AND expanding literacy.
We're at it Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Let's get your team on the calendar!

Mission Statement
To promote, enhance and expand the presence and services of the library for the benefit of the community.
Description
The Friends have been instrumental in raising millions for the library programs citywide; adding additional books and furnishings for the library's; providing input to public officials to ensure a strong library system; developing nationally recognized Teen Centers; purchasing rare books and Spanish language materials; holding book sales to raise funds and provide low cost books to the public and acting as a conduit between the community and the library system. The Friends of the Phoenix Library was organized in 1977 and has chapters at each Phoenix library branch. We invite volunteers to help in efforts to develop financial resources and programs, create public awareness and serve as advocates for the library system.
