Please join us on January 10th at 10:00 am, to learn more about being a friendly visitor to hospice patients.
Friendly visitors support our patients and their families' quality of life by providing a caring presence, companionship and socialization while providing the caregiver with a much-needed break.
Visits are required once a week for 2-4 hours in a patient’s home or long-term care facility.
Activities may include sitting quietly with a patient, reading, watching TV, sharing stories, playing cards and games, sharing military experiences, acting as a friend or neighbor. There is no hands-on care.
No prior experience or healthcare background needed. We will train and prepare you for this important role.
Please note: All who have experienced the loss of a significant family member or friend must wait one year from date of loss to begin the volunteer process.
