Share your experience with other seniors
ORGANIZATION: RSVP of Snohomish County
Please visit the new page to apply.
The Falls Prevention Coalition, consisting of organizations and agencies in Snohomish County dedicated to elevating awareness of the hazards of falls in seniors, needs a person who HAS fallen to assist us in our outreach campaign.
If you have experienced a fall at home, for example, been transported by the Fire Department to the hospital and had to stay there and/or at a Rehab facility prior to returning home we need your help.
We've learned that many seniors (persons over 65 for this project) do not think they are in danger of falling or do not think the consequences are anything to be concerned about.
That kind of thinking is dead wrong. Falls sometimes can be fatal. Falls among seniors nationwide is a serious problem. At the very least a fall can land you in the hospital and a nursing facility while you recover. If this is your experience, you can be of service to others by assisting us at presentations.
Your job would be to tell the audience of your experience. Short and to the point. Our presenters will take it from there with ideas and suggestions on how to prevent falls.
So if you have fallen and were required to stay in the hospital or a nursing home, we'd like to talk to you.
This opportunity is also available to those who have lost a spouse, partner or family member due to falling.
Can you help us prevent others from falling?
