Mentor a Child Whose Family is Affected by HIV/AIDS
Organization |
Description
The Goal of NOVAM's PALS Program is to provide respite for children and families who are affected and/or infected by HIV/AIDS and live in Northern Virginia. Volunteers are needed to be a friend, a role model, and a mentor for our young PALS (ages 6-16). Volunteers attend a training provided by NOVAM, are willing to commit to the program for one year, and make a minimum of two visits per month. Ten children whose families are affected by HIV/AIDS eagerly await an adult mentor to provide a positive role model in their lives. The PALS program is in particular need of qualified male volunteers as the current majority of kids in need of mentoring are boys. This is an ongoing opportunity.
