The Y's Care Children's Program offers an early childhood learning program for children ages 2 1/2 to 5 whose families are homeless and for children eligible for Head Start services. We are licensed to serve 20 children a day. The program includes meals and an opportunity to learn and play in a safe environment. Volunteers are needed to assist classroom staff in providing direct service to children, reading, doing art projects, playing and providing one on one positive attention. This is a great position for "grandparent type" volunteers, who want to "rock and read" and spend time with young children in a group setting. The successful volunteer loves children...
