Here is your opportunity to contribute in the transformation of bright girls into admirable leaders in the Lawrence community.

The Gold Award is the culmination of all the work a girl puts into "Going for the Gold." Scouts are asked to submit a project that fills a need in their local or global communities, creates change, and becomes ongoing. More than a good service project, the Gold award project encompasses organizational, leadership, and networking skills.

As a Gold Award Advisor, you will encourage our Scouts to impact their communities on local, state, federal and even international levels. We greatly appreciate your efforts to guide them through adversity and setbacks, showing them how to rise above their trials.

Your resonsibilities will include:

  • Aiding Gold Award applicants during the project approval process by providing support, advisory feedback, and approving their project plans

  • Participating in four Gold Award Committee meetings per year

  • Attending Advisory Board meetings when scheduled

  • Maintaining active Girl Scout Membership

  • Complying with current policies, procedures, and guidelines of Girl Scouts of NE Kansas & NW Missouri and Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA)

  • Above all, be guided in all actions by the Girl Scout Mission, Promise, and Law
