Multiple volunteer opportunities are available during events:
Set-Up generally begins in the morning on the day of an event and ends when set-up is complete. Set-up involves assisting with setting up tables, chairs and other items, and helping with any tasks associated with preparing for the event.
Greeters are asked to arrive for a brief training and information session an hour before the event begins and work until the event is over, with a brief break. Greeters are stationed inside the main entrance and welcome arriving guests, direct them to the exhibit or event, registration/check in and facilities, and respond to questions.
Ticket & Merchandise Sales are positioned at tables in the reception area at the main entrance. These volunteers accept pre-sold tickets and verify names on attendance lists, sell tickets and merchandise such as books and exhibit guides, handle cash and use credit card machines, and generally insure that each arriving guest is ticketed.
Ticket Takers are asked to arrive for a brief training and information session an hour before the event begins and work until all guests have arrived and been checked in.
Clean-Up takes place from the time an event concludes until finished and involves clearing tables, taking down, stacking and storing tables and chairs, and generally clearing the exhibit area.
