We have an immediate need for volunteers to drive or assist our food pantry van drivers . The person in this position drives or rides to grocery stores, schools, the Houston Food Bank and other locations to pick up donated items several times a week. Volunteers considered for the driver position must complete a background and drivers license check. Both drivers and assistants must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds. Pick-ups start at 8:00am and take approximately three to four hours depending on the number of locations for pick-up on the schedule for that day.
The person considered for this volunteer position must have excellent customer service skill and knowledge of safety procedures for lifting (we will train). We pick-up from several locations every day; however, applicants will be considered for as few as one four hour shift per week,
