Helping Horse Therapeutic Programs located in Wendell, NC is looking for volunteers to assist during our group and private lessons for the fall/winter season 2023/23. Our program runs September 9th 2023 through May 24th 2024. At Helping Horse We provide equine assisted programs that foster joy and well being through connections with our horses and team members in an uplifting and inclusive environment. We provide programs to those with physical, mental or emotional special needs mostly all on horseback with a few students participating in horsemanship or ground lessons.

Please join us for our season kick off new volunteer orientation on Monday August 28th from 6-8pm to learn more about our program and how you can help.

If you would like to come out and side walk beside our riders during classes or if you have horse experience and would like to lead our horses during lessons, we would love to have you ! This is a great way to serve the special needs community while being outdoors and getting some exercise all at the same time. Volunteers must be able to walk for up to one hour per class (this is intermittent walking with stops throughout). Horse experience is not necessary, we will train you. Our classes and lessons run at all different times throughout the week and weekend to work in your schedule. If you are interested please visit our website https://helpinghorse.org/support/. and complete the volunteer inquiry information.

We are following all CDC guidelines for Covid19.
