The youth program at Boat People SOS is looking for passionate individuals to work with elementary and middle school youth this school year. The program is 4 hours a week of academics, fun and interactive games, and science experiments.
Volunteers will receive training on program expectations, guidelines, and best practices. All materials will be provided
Time: Tuesday and Thursdays, 5:00-7:00
Location: Falls Church, VA
Volunteer’s Responsibilities:
Attend training provided by program coordinator
Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring
Help students improve in needed academic areas
Work with program coordinator to support student’s needs
Requirements:
Must be consistent and committed to helping youth achieve academic success
Must be able to commit once or twice a week for at least 1 semester
Should be in good-standing academically if still in school
Must pass background check
