ORGANIZATION: Denver Rescue Mission

Volunteers work with women in our Family Rescue as mentors. We're looking for adult women who are interested in investing in the lives of our program participants through consistent one on one meetings for at least 1 year (two hours every other week to meet with mentee and an email or phone call to touch base on the opposite week). Mentors are required to be consistent, knowledgeable about basic living skills, and be committed to accountability, and have a heart for encouragement. We currently have many program participants who need mentors!

Description

Founded in 1892, Denver Rescue Mission is the oldest full-service Christian charity serving the poor and needy in the Rocky Mountain region.

Lawrence Street Shelter is our most recognizable location because of the neon "Jesus Saves" sign on the corner of the building. Services at this location include shelter (up to 315 men nightly), medical services and relational and emotional support for those experiencing homelessness.

The Crossing provides a long-term New Life Program location for men; the STAR Transitional Program for homeless families and single men and women with children; and temporary housing for New Life Program graduates, interns and visitors.
