The Cancer Resource Volunteer listens, informs, and comforts the patient by connecting them to practical services, supporting the patient during treatment, and offering comfort and hope. Not only does the Cancer Resource Volunteer work with the patient, they also work with the families and caregivers by facilitating a link to hospital and American Cancer Society resources.

The Eastern Division of the American Cancer Society is responsible for carrying out the Society's programs and services as well as raising funds to support those programs and services as well as research in New Jersey and New York.
