Do you love animals? especially cats and dogs?
Then please join us in helping us find them homes!
We have plenty of choices (writing, posting online, researching, vetting, transporting, fostering, cat sitting/dog walking, home visits, fundraising...the list is pretty endless) for people of all ages w/ some time on their hands.
Help us help our homeless shelter cats/dogs find furever homes!
(NYC tristate area w/ some long distance help needed)

Mission Statement
ALLIANCE MISSION STATEMENT
The goal of Zani's Furry Friends is to rescue animals, dogs and cats in particular, and to help those adoptable animals who come into the NYC shelter system find new forever homes. On a larger scale, we wish to contribute by being a small part of a much needed local and regional effort to decrease euthanasia by promoting rescue of perfectly good family companion animals who are all too frequently dumped in the city pounds--an unfortunately all too common occurrence in our throwaway society.
To achieve this goal, our desire is to match companion animal to appropriate home with the appropriate family. To expedite these transitions from shelter to home, we provide a home environment, vet visits/medical attention, grooming, training, reference checks/home visits, transport, and support for both animals and adopters.
As a New Hope partner with Animal Care and Control of NYC and as an Alliance Participating Organization we hope to contribute to making New York City a No Kill city. We are not nave enough to believe that no animals will be euthanized--rather that adoptable ones will have a second chance.
Description
We are a group of fosters dedicated to giving cats/dogs a loving home environment while they await their furever homes. We pull almost exclusively from the overcrowded city's kill shelters when the dog/cat has run out of time (which can be as little as 0 hours for an owner surrendered pet to 3 days for a stray) and end up on the daily euthanasia list. We host weekly adoption events in NYC (Sundays) and post our cats/dogs on our website in 3 states (NY, CT, RI). We adopt both locally and out of state in the hopes of helping them find the right furever home.
