Who We Are: Mercy House is a non-profit organization that provides emergency and transitional services to the homeless in Orange County and San Bernardino. Our goal is simple; to end the cycle of homelessness for those entering our system of care.

Overview: Mercy House is in need of a group that would be willing to provide a dinner for single men at our Joseph House Transitional Shelter during our "fight" nights. In an effort to provide recreational activities for the men at our shelter, we are showing several boxing/MMA matches and would like to be able to have a volunteer group host a dinner during these events. Volunteers are encouraged to stay during the fight to enteract with the clients.

Responsibilities: Volunteers are responsible for providing enough food for approximately 21 men plus the volunteers. Volunteers should also bring paper products & utensils for easy clean-up.

Meal Ex:
BBQ: Hamburgers & Hot Dogs/potato salad & beans/drinks/dessert
Taco Bar: Tacos with meat and toppings/beans/rice/drinks/dessert
Italian: Homemade Lasagna or spagetthi/garlic bread/salad with dressing/drinks/dessert
Other: Cornbeef & Cabbage or Pork Roast or Brisket

Initial Impact: Providing a positive social experience and interaction with homeless individuals.

The dinners will take place on Saturday evenings from 6-8pm.

Specific addresses will be provided after volunteer opportunity has been assigned. Our shelters are located in Santa Ana (nearest major cross streets: 17th & Main St.)
