ORGANIZATION: Santa Cruz AIDS Project

  • 6 people are interested

The Santa Cruz AIDS Project was founded in 1985 by a group of dedicated volunteers with the mission to lead a community response to the ever-changing HIV/AIDS pandemic, to enhance the quality of life through powerful support programs, and to advocate effectively for the health and dignity of those living with HIV. We strive to reduce the spreads of HIV through results-oriented and measured education and prevention programs that are tailored to specific at-risk community groups and focused on the health of Santa Cruz County.

Santa Cruz AIDS Project is looking for Outreach Task Force Volunteers for our Santa Cruz and Watsonville locations.

Outreach volunteers conduct individual and group outreach. Emphasis is placed on risk reduction for targeted risk populations. Outreach volunteers provide risk assessments and work with members of the community to reduce the rate of HIV transmission. Spanish speakers are a plus.

Volunteer Shifts are flexible between 9am-5pm M-F in Santa Cruz or Watsonville. We are asking for a minimum 6 month volunteer commitment

Training and opportunities to shadow experienced outreach volunteers/staff will be provided.
