Do you love rabbits? Would you like to spend some time in the company of the fluffy little critters? Would you like contribute to their wellbeing and quality of life? Would offering up some of your free time to a local non-profit organization lift your spirits?

If you said yes to any of these questions then we'd be thrilled to meet you!!

The Georgia House Rabbit Society, the GHRS, is an all volunteer rabbit rescue organization located in Marietta, Georgia. We rescue, rehabilitate and rehome rabbits in need of help. Volunteers run every aspect of our shelter, including feeding the bunnies, cleaning the shelter, stocking supplies, overseeing our Hop Shop store, answering the phones, aiding in adoptions, and more. We do it all! And we need your help!

We have a wide variety of tasks that we need doing to make our shelter work and our rabbits happy, so if you have an interest, there is likely a spot for you! And don't worry if you have little or no experience with rabbits. Though some of the jobs require experience with handling rabbits, there are many jobs that don't. And for those that want to learn and interact with the bunnies, we here at the GHRS will be happy to teach you about proper rabbit care and handling!

Volunteers are needed for any and all days of the week. We can be quite flexible with anyone willing to offer their precious time to help us.

Examples of some tasks we need help with:
Cleaning the shelter
Feeding the rabbits
Grooming the rabbits
Helping in the Hop Shop selling supplies or stocking shelves
Socializing the bunnies aka showing them LOVE!
Making hidey boxes for the rabbits
Cutting carpet for the rabbit pens
Driving bunnies to the vet and back
Helping capture loose and abandoned buns in need

Checking up on our bunnies at Petcos and Petsmarts in the area

Helping with our events
And more...

If you are interested, please FILL OUT OUR ONLINE ADOPTION APPLICATION by following the link below. Any and all potential volunteers need to fill out this online application. Please do not send individual emails. Your online adoption application will be sent directly to our volunteer coordinator and they will contact you shortly.

About Georgia House Rabbit Society

Location:

3114 Cherokee St NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144, US

Mission Statement

The Georgia House Rabbit Society has two primary goals: 1. To rescue abandoned domestic rabbits and to find permanent homes for them, and 2. To educate the public and assist humane societies on proper rabbit care. Our Philosophy: All rabbits are valuable as individuals, regardless of breed, purity, temperament, state of health, or relationship to humans. It is in the best interest of domestic rabbits to be neutered or spayed, to live in human housing, and to be treated for illnesses by veterinarians. Rabbits are intelligent, social animals who require mental stimulation, toys, exercise, environmental activity, and social interaction with, as appropriate, people, other rabbits and other household companion animals.

Description

The Georgia House Rabbit Society is a nonprofit, volunteer-based 501c3 organization. GHRS provides for the rescue, care and rehoming of abused and abandoned domesticated rabbits in need. Through education and outreach, the organization strives to inform the public on proper rabbit care.

The Georgia House Rabbit Society has a rabbit shelter in Kennesaw, Georgia which includes housing for their adoptable buns, a store open to the public which sells quality products for rabbits, and a boarding facility so that rabbit owners in the area have a safe environment to care for their rabbits while away. Grooming services are also available! All sales from the store, boarding and grooming go towards the upkeep of the shelter and the care of the buns.
