Assist in the proper care of the animal collection, including environmental requirements, nutrition and the maintenance and appearance of all exhibits. Have an interest and willingness to learn about aquarium keeping and the biology of the inhabitants at the Downtown Aquarium. Be willing to get wet, perform "dirty" jobs and handle fish, squid, shrimp, etc. which is used as food. Attend general orientation and continuing education sessions.

Volunteers for the Deep Blue Sea Foundation at the Downtown Aquarium Denver create experiences that inspire aquarium guests to discover, explore, enjoy and protect our aquatic world.
Description
Downtown Aquarium is a world-class aquarium located in the Central Platte Valley of Denver. Volunteers engage guests and interpret the aquarium exhibits. Guests travel over, under, around and through rivers, coral reefs and deep ocean environments.

- Aquarist Assistants commonly make a consistent weekly four-hour commitment for a minimum of a year. Positions are ONLY available during early morning (7:30am-10;30am), before hours of operation, seven days a week for people 18 years or older.
