Needed: Compeer Match Volunteers. We are looking for adult men and women that can spend 1 hour per week , one to one, with a same gender adult who is managing mental health issues. Volunteers call their matches, meet their matches in agreed upon public places, and are welcome to attend the many monthly Compeer Events listed on the Compeer Event Calander.
Volunteers do not need a background or an education in mental health. Volunteers are trained by Compeer Staff. Volunteers receive on going support and guidance from Compeer Staff.
Volunteers are not required to pay for anyone but themselves for all activities. Volunteers and their Matches are responsible only for their own transportation.
Compeer at Far West Center is a 23 year old program and a branch of Compeer, Inc. Please check out: www.compeer.org & www.farwestcenter.com .
Compeer focuses on friendship as a healing part of the recovery process. Compeer aims to decrease isolation. Compeer focus on the optimistic and active part of rejoining the community.
