Volunteer opportunities for this event are on Saturday July 14th and Sunday July 15th at Hing Hay Park, 423 Maynard Ave S.
Dragon Fest, formerly known as Seattle's Chinatown-ID Summer Fest, is the largest Pan-Asian street festival in the Pacific Northwest and attracts over 30,000 people into the International District each year. While volunteering at the event you will be able to take in the sights and sounds of multicultural entertainment such as the lion and dragon dance, martial arts, drill teams and much more! There are many fun and exciting opportunities to participate in. We hope to see you there!
No training is required before the event. Ages 16 years and up. Group volunteers welcome. Volunteers will check in 15 minutes before their shift at the Information Booth to receive their Dragon Fest t-shirt and our volunteer coordinator will direct you from there. The available opportunities and times are as follows:
1) Saturday Set Up
- Help set up tables/chairs
- Assist vendors and event coordinator as needed
- Shift: 8:30-11:30am (Saturday only)
2) Survey Administration
- Roam event grounds and administer brief Dragon Fest survey to attendees
- Shifts: 1-4pm, 4-7pm(Saturday), and 1-4pm, 4-8pm (Sunday)
3) Information Booth
- Provide information and direction to those in need
- Shifts: 12-4pm,4-8pm(Saturday), and 12-4pm,4-6pm(Sunday)
4) Cultural Pavilion
- Help children with their arts/craft, kite-making and coloring
- Shifts:12-4pm,4-8pm(Saturday), and 12-4pm,4-6pm(Sunday)
4) Sunday Wrap Up
- Break down tables/chairs
- General trash pick up
- Shift: 6-8pm (Sunday only)

Mission Statement
Established in 1994, the Chinatown-International District Business Improvement Area (CIDBIA) is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization primarily funded through a self-imposed tax on business and property owners in the Chinatown-International District. Its mission is to promote economic vitality of the district, encourage responsible business development and support continuous improvement of the quality of life in the district for its business owners, residents, and visitors. The CIDBIA supplements state and city programs geared toward neighborhood improvement and is charged to deliver the following scope of services: Implement marketing strategies to promote business and tourism maintenance, beautification, and enhancement of the public areas Support and promote public safety Increase accessibility to the district by defining, participating, and supporting transportation related initiatives
